Markos Asprou obtained the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cyprus in 2009. Currently he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus. He is also working as a researcher at the KIOS Research Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks. His research interests include monitoring and state estimation of power systems based on synchronized measurements, and power system network parameter estimation. In the estimation of the network parameters, the main objective is the update of the network parameter databases situated in the power system control center. This is achieved through the use of available measurements (especially synchronized phasor measurements) that exist in the power system field.
