Rui Yang (M'17-SM'23) received the B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2008 and 2013 respectively.
He is currently a Senior Associate Professor in the School of Advanced Technology, the Founding Director of Centre for Intelligent Control and Optimization, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China, and an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, University of Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is named a Highly Ranked Scholar (top 0.05%) in Transfer Learning by ScholarGPS, ranking 8th globally over the past five years. His main research areas are transfer learning, deep learning, intelligent optimization, and brain-computer interface.
