Dr. Harimurugan Devarajan is an Assistant Professor (Grade-I) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Punjab, India.
He specialises in high-voltage engineering, partial discharge diagnostics, and acoustic emission–based condition monitoring of transformers. His research integrates advanced signal processing, deep learning, and neuromorphic computing to develop intelligent, real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance systems for power equipment. He has published extensively in high-impact journals and has been widely recognised for his contributions to power system diagnostics. His doctoral research received national-level recognition, earning the POSOCO Power System Award (Doctoral Category- PPSA 2020) and being selected among the Top 15 PhD theses in India for the year 2020, awarded by the Power System Operation Corporation Limited under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
He has also been honoured with multiple academic and institutional awards for research impact and contributions to engineering education. Dr. Harimurugan leads projects in transformer diagnostics, grounding effectiveness, and intelligent monitoring systems, and he holds two granted Indian patents in AI-based sensing and measurement technologies.
