Jorge Portilla Gómez received the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), Valparaíso, Chile, in 2024. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a part-time lecturer and laboratory assistant at Universidad de Pamplona, Pampona, Colombia. Between 2018 and 2023, he was a doctoral researcher at UTFSM, where he developed AI-based diagnostic systems for combustion and power transformer applications. Since 2024, he has been an Academic Instructor at the Department of Electronics and Informatics, UTFSM, Concepción, Chile, and serves as a collaborating professor in the Doctoral Program in Artificial Intelligence (CRUCH Biobío-Ñuble). His research interests include machine learning and data-driven modeling for engineering measurement systems, image processing, pattern recognition, vision-based measurement systems, intelligent fault detection and monitoring, and high-performance computing for machine learning.
