Kapil Gangwar is a Ph.D. student working under Prof. Edwin C. Kan in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University. His current research interests include biomedical sensors and instrumentation, microwave antennas, biomedical imaging, and related techniques. Kapil completed his Master of Science in Electromagnetics and Microwaves, a thesis-based degree, under Prof. Rambabu Karumudi at the University of Alberta, Canada, in 2022. His thesis focused on the analysis of pediatric corpulence and knee osteoarthritis imaging using ultra-wideband radar systems, which has been influential in his current research trajectory. His academic foundation was laid at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2019. During his doctoral studies, Kapil aspires to conduct academic research centered on real-time problems in various applications related to medical imaging, health, devices, instrumentation, and radio frequency sensors. He aims to overcome the bottlenecks in these fields by developing solution models and techniques that are both helpful and affordable for society. Additionally, along with pursuing a teaching career in a renowned institute, he plans to establish a biomedical research lab that will provide free diagnoses to those in need.
