Maxwell Mamishev is an undergraduate electrical engineering student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He currently works on educational hardware for teaching instrumentation and measurement methods with gate-drive circuits at the Center for Electric Machinery and Electromechanics. Maxwell serves on the Executive Board of the IEEE UIUC student branch. He was a runner-up at the 2025 IEEE Rising Stars Conference for his contributions to measurements of signals from the ionosphere. His prior work includes co-authoring multiple papers and co-inventing a LiDAR-based assistive device now in commercial use. In 2025, he was a participant of the NSF REU program of the Breakthrough Listen Project at the SETI Institute, UC Berkeley, CA, contributing to the next generation measurement instrumentation for the Allen Telescope Array. His research interests include sensor networks, instrumentation, real-time data analytics, and signal processing. He is a co-author of three peer-reviewed research papers and two utility patents.
