Rajarshi Gupta (M’07–SM’14) received the B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees in instrumentation engineering from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India, in 1998, 2002, and 2012, respectively. From January 2018, he is a Professor with the Electrical Engineering Division, Department of Applied Physics, University of Calcutta, India. He primary areas of research are biomedical signal analysis, instrumentation and intelligent health monitoring systems. He is associated as an investigator/co-investigator in five research projects involving development of biomedical applications and systems, with a total funding of over INR 9 million. He has authored/co-authored over 100 publications in peer reviewed international journals, conferences, books and book chapters, guided six students towards PhD and currently guiding four more.
Rajarshi has been serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE TIM and Editorial Board member of Physiological Measurement (IOP Science), and has served as Editor of Scientific Report (Nature) and APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing.
Rajarshi has been actively volunteered in local IEEE section and in particular IEEE IMS activities. He has served as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary of IEEE Joint CSS-IMS Kolkata chapter, and a faculty advisor of IMS Student Branch chapters.
