Ran Liu (Senior Member, IEEE) received the bachelor’s degree from the Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, China, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tuebingen, Germany, in 2014, under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Zell and Prof. Andreas Schilling. From 2014 to 2024, he was a Research Fellow with the Engineering Product Development (EPD) pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). From 2024 to 2025, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Since 2025, he has been a Senior Research Fellow at the AUMOVIO-NTU Corporate Lab at NTU. His research interests include indoor localization, robotics, and UHF RFID localization and mapping. He has been an Associate Editor for Springer Nature Computer Science since 2023.
