Xinnan Zheng is currently a PhD candidate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Manchester (UoM) under the supervision of Prof. Wuliang Yin. His research centers on electromagnetic sensors and real-time inspection systems for non-destructive testing. To date, he has published 37 papers in international measurement journals, including 5 as sole first author or corresponding author, with 280 total citations. He has also published seven conference papers at the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC).
He completed a joint undergraduate program between University College Dublin (UCD) and Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) in Electronic and Information Engineering (2018–2022), graduating ranked 1st out of 62 in my cohort. In 2022, he was awarded dual Bachelor of Engineering degrees from UCD and BJUT. Recognizing his academic performance, his supervisor Prof. Wuliang Yin offered him the opportunity to bypass the Master’s degree and proceed directly to a PhD at UoM.
Upon the completion of his PhD, his is committed to pursuing an academic career as a faculty member at a world-renowned university, following the path of leading experts and my esteemed supervisors. With unwavering dedication, he aspires to cultivate the next generation of scholars while making pioneering contributions to the advancement of measurement and instrumentation, driving innovation and shaping the future of this field.
