Biography

Shutao Li received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Hunan University, Changsha, China, in 1995, 1997, and 2001, respectively, all in electrical engineering. In 2001, he joined the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University. From May 2001 to October 2001, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Kowloon, Hong Kong. From November 2002 to November 2003, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Royal Holloway College, University of London, Surrey, U.K.. From April 2005 to June 2005, he was a Visiting Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In 2013, he was granted the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in China. He is currently a Full Professor with the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University. He is also a ChangJiang Scholar Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education of China. He has authored/coauthored more than 180 refereed papers. His professional interests include compressive sensing, sparse representation, image processing, and pattern recognition. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON GEOSCIENCE AND REMOTE SENSING, a member of the Editorial Board of the Information Fusion. He was a recipient of two 2nd-Grade National Awards at the Science and Technology Progress of China in 2004 and 2006.
