Call for Proposals: Student-Driven Community Engineering Projects
Deadline: 1 May 2026
Students are encouraged to submit proposals that drive local community impact by designing and deploying engineering solutions that meet their communities' technological needs.
The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS) is partnering with EPICS in IEEE to fund IMS Member projects that include:
- Development and use of electrical and electronic instruments to measure, monitor, and record physical phenomena.
- Instrumentation and transducers also cover measurement of non-electrical variables, calibration, uncertainty, automated control, safety instruments, and new tech applications.
Proposal Guidelines
- Identify a problem in your local community
- Partner with a non-profit organization
- Detail how your student team will solve it using engineering and technology
- Projects must be completed within 1 year
- All projects must involve IEEE members
Selected projects will receive up to US $10,000, mentorship, and resources.
Accepting proposals: 1 March - 1 May 2026
