YP Ambassador Program: 2026 Call for Applications
The Instrumentation and Measurement (I&M) Society is currently accepting applications for new Young Professional Ambassadors (YPA) for the Young Professional Ambassador Program (YPAP). The YPAP provides I&M chapters and technical events around the world with talks and tutorials by young professionals on topics of interest and importance to the I&M community. Our ambassadors are among the most up-and-coming young professionals in their field and possess the following:
- Be a member of IEEE IMS
- Within 15 years of the first professional degree awarded (IEEE YP definition)
- 3 years of experience past first professional degree (academic or industry)
This year, YPAP Evaluations will be conducted offline via digital submissions. The Evaluation Committee will review each of the submitted applications (with the required materials seen below) and individuals will be notified of the committee’s decision.
Applications are accepted through July 31, 2026 (11:59pm EST/UTC-5).
Suggested topics for YPA presentations include (but are not limited to):
- Laser/Optics (including Fiber Optic Sensing)
- Measurement Precision, Sensitivity, and Noise
- Measurement Fundamentals (accuracy, trueness, repeatability, resolution, etc.)
- Calibration and Calibration Periodicity
- DC Measurements
- Biomedical Instrumentation and Measurements
- Robotics/Automated Measurements
- Nanotechnology in Instrumentation and Measurement
- Big Data and Metrology
- Measurement for Food Safety
- State-of-the-Art of Traditional Measurements and Instrumentation (Digitizers, Voltmeters, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.).
To apply, submit the following (via email attachments or link to online repository with all the required information):
- Presenter Information
- Presenter’s CV (year of awarded degrees must be listed)
- Biography (limited to 150 words)
- Presentation (up to 2 may be submitted)
- Title of Presentation
- Abstract of the presentation topic (between 500 and 1000 words)
- 15-minute (maximum) recorded presentation
