TC-08: Carbon Metering & Verification Committee (CMV)
Scope
The goals of this committee are:
- Advance the science, technology, and practice of carbon measurement and verification for industrial and energy sectors.
- Develop instrumentation methods, sensors, and calibration techniques tailored for carbon emissions monitoring and full-life-cycle carbon footprint assessment.
- Promote integration of carbon metering with digital platforms, smart grids, and distributed energy systems.
- Address accuracy, reliability, interoperability, and standardized data management in carbon metering, with a focus on ensuring compatibility with carbon verification methodologies and workflows.
- Support IEEE IMS's mission by contributing to standards, publications, and technical activities in carbon-related measurement science, and fostering collaboration with relevant TCs.
