Dear Friends:
Welcome to the April edition of our newsletter. In this issue, I want to tell you a bit about two relevant ongoing programs that are part of this year's activities. The first one is the Distinguished Lecturer Program. The Instrumentation and Measurement Society is currently accepting applications for new Distinguished Lecturers (DL) for the term 2024-2026. Details can be found in this newsletter in the corresponding section and on our official webpage. This is a very exciting program offered to our community, aiming to provide our chapters around the world with technical talks by experts on topics within our field of interest. We cordially invite you to participate in the selection process, which will be conducted by an Evaluation Committee through a technical presentation during the upcoming I2MTC in both modalities, in-person and online. You can be part of this selected group providing a great service to our technical community!
The second ongoing activity I would like to mention is our IMS Mentorship Program. This program aims to support students and young professionals in their career development through a direct connection with experts in line with their technical interests. Mentees participating in the program may find advice regarding career, technical work, or getting involved with IEEE as a professional homelife. No doubt that this process can be extremely rewarding for both sides. Come on, why not give it a try? Mentor applications are open year-round, while mentee applications are accepted twice per year over a two-week period.
These are only two examples of the many exciting opportunities you may find within IMS. Please visit our webpage and take a glance at the chances to participate in the many activities at your service.
Don’t forget to keep in touch with your local chapter.
Cordially,
Manuel
