Message from Juan Manuel Ramirez Cortes
Dear Friends:
Welcome to the October edition of our Newsletter. I want to take this opportunity to talk about a recent IMS initiative/project in partnership with the well-known program IEEE EPICS (Engineering Projects In Community Service). EPICS in IEEE started in 2009 and has been a facilitator of more than 180 projects around the world aiming at community improvement through several actions involving technology and the passioned work of volunteers. IEEE is addressing the environmental problems associated with climate change as a strategic vision through several approaches. In this context, EPICS in IEEE, in partnership with IMS, has presented a Call for Proposals. The projects are an opportunity to address local environmental problems and climate change technological needs in the communities.
The deadline to present proposals is November 1st.
We cordially invite you to check out the information on our webpage and participate in proposing some projects.
I would also like to highlight again the relevance to our Society of your participation in our IMS-sponsored conferences. In this last part of the year, we usually look for the more appropriate forums planned to be held next year, in order to expose research results, work in progress, or student advances. Don’t forget to check our webpage, call for papers, and dates. Hope to see you soon at some of our upcoming events.
Cordially,
Manuel
