MAY 2019

On May 21 2019 during the I2MTC, the 2019 IEEE Past President Prof. James A. Jefferies presented Professor Alan Finkel with the prestigious 2019 IEEE Joseph F. Keithley Award in Instrumentation and Measurement. Alan also delivered an outstanding keynote for the conference. We are proud of the contributions and support that our technical committee members provide to the Instrumentation and Measurement Society.

Further to that, the President of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, Max Cortner, presented the 2018 Outstanding Technical Committee Award to our technical committee. Ye Chow received the award on our behalf.

FEBRUARY 2019

The IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Society flagship conference I2MTC will take place between 20-23 May 2019, Auckland New Zealand. Out of the 15 members of our TC, 10 contributed heavily in the organization of I2MTC as the general co-chairs, technical program co-chairs, special session co-chairs, keynote speaker, tutorial speaker, special session organiser etc. We are very proud to serve the Instrumentation and Measurement Society this year, and will continue to contribute in all its future conferences through our activities.


NOVEMBER 2018

Congratulations to Dr. Arvind Rajan for the conferral of the Doctor of Philosophy degree by Monash University for the thesis "Moment-Based Uncertainty Propagation Using Multivariate Polynomials: Advances in Probabilistic Engineering Design". TC-32 wishes him all the very best for his career and all future endeavours.

OCTOBER 2018

The TC-32 is inviting the participants of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society (IMS) New Zealand Chapter 2-Day Annual Workshop on Smart Sensors, Measurements and Instrumentation for Health, Food, Agriculture, Environment and Security (September 6-7, 2018) to submit the extended version of their presentations at the Workshop to the Special Issue on I&M of the International Journal of Intelligent Systems Technologies and Applications (IJISTA) published  by the Inderscience Publishers.

The call for Submissions is also open to the IEEE I&M Society members researching in the areas of Smart, Sensors, Measurements and Instrumentation for Health, Food, Agriculture, Environment and Security.

Keithley Award in Instrumentation and Measurement for his contributions to high-speed, accurate measurement of electrical transmission in the brain and other biological cells. The prestigious IEEE Joseph F. Keithley Award is administered by IEEE Awards Board to pay tribute to technical professionals whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and the engineering profession. The TC-32 is very proud of this outstanding achievement of Dr. Finkel and would like to wish him to continue his productive and impactful professional activities.

Congratulations to Mr Arvind Rajan for successfully completing the research attachment with Massey University with the support of 2017 I&M Society Graduate Fellowship Award, and presenting the results at the 2018 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) in Houston, Texas.

TC-32 congratulates its members on the recent IEEE appointments by the Board of Directors:

TC-32 is proud to announce the Fellowship elevation of one of its members, Dr. Melanie Ooi, within Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). She is one of the youngest female Fellows of IET, having been elevated before her 35th birthday.

Congratulations to TC-32 member Dr. Lorenzo Ciani, who received the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year 2015 Award for his contribution to the advancement of instrumentation and measurement in the field of reliability analysis and to Associate Professor Melanie Ooi, who was appointed as Distinguished Lecturer of the IMS Distinguished Lecturer of the Program for 2016-2017.
