Biography

Roberto Tinarelli was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1974. He received the MS degree and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna and the Polytechnic of Milan, Italy, respectively, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He is author or co-author of about 100 scientific papers and co-inventor of 12 patents. In 2000, he joined the EE Department of the University of Bologna where he is presently Assistant Professor of Electrical Measurements and teaches "Electrical Measurements on Power Systems". His research activity is mainly devoted to: design and metrological characterization of instruments for measurement under non-sinusoidal conditions; design and development of new instrumentation for flicker measurement; design of new electromagnetic-fields sensors and instrumentation; reliabiltity study of electronic devices.
Roberto Tinarelli is member of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, member of the IEEE IMS Technical Committee TC39 "Measurements on Power Systems", member of the organizing committee of IEEE AMPS 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, member of the organizing committee of IEEE SMFG 2011.
He is also a regular reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement. TC 39 member
