Biography

I am originally from Ames, Iowa. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and completed training to become a 6492 Precision Measurement Equipment Technician. My duties as a junior enlisted Marine included calibration and troubleshooting test equipment, used for maintaining Marine Corps aircraft. While stationed on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, in Okinawa, Japan, I also attended junior college. After my tour of duty ended in Japan, I was sent to Miramar Air Station in San Diego, where I also attended junior college while serving. After serving five years, I left active service honorably as a Sergeant. I returned home to Ames and began pursuing a degree in electrical engineering at Iowa State University. In November of 2019, I began work at the ISU Center for Nondestructive Evaluation as an undergraduate research assistance. The research I assist with involves, 3D printing samples used in fully loaded waveguide measurements, designing and printing waveguides, used for specific measurement applications. My additional work includes, running scans with a VNA, and processing measurement data. Currently, I am halfway through my Sophomore year at ISU.
