Recognizes the author of an outstanding PhD dissertation in terms of technical significance and creativity in the field of Instrumentation and Measurement. Award Selection Committee Prize: The prize is $1,000.00 USD, a certificate, and publication of the dissertation abstract in the IEEE IMS Magazine. Funding: This Award is funded by the IEEE IMS. Presentation: Presentation will take place at the IMS flagship conference I2MTC or another IMS conference chosen by the recipient. Basis for Judging: The committee will take in account at least the following criteria in the evaluation: Relevance for I&M field ; Potential impact on theory and practice ; Technical depth and significance of the research contribution ; Quality of preparation: is the dissertation well written and organized ; Clarity: does the dissertation clearly state the contribution of the work ; Completeness of the review of relevant literature ; Originality and creativity. Eligibility: Candidate must be a Member (or higher-grade Member) or a Student Member of the IEEE and of I&M Society at the time of application ; The candidate must have a nominating sponsor (PhD advisor or PhD committee member) that is a Member (or higher-grade Member) of the IEEE and of I&M Society at the time of application ; The Degree must have been conferred within 2 years prior to submission deadline from an accredited (in accordance to the accepted rules of the country of applicant) institution ; The original dissertation can be in any language. The nominated dissertation and all other application material should be written in English ; No more than one nomination per nominating sponsor per award year will be considered.
