Biography

Min Xia (S’11-M’17)  received the B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China in 2009, the M.S. degree in Precision Instrument and Machinery from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada in 2017.

He has been a Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing in the Department of Engineering at Lancaster University, Lancaster, United Kingdom, since 2019. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC from 2017 to 2019 and a visiting research fellow at The University of Tokyo, Japan in 2019. He is also an Associate Editor of Mechatronic Systems and Control, a Topic Editor of Electronics, and a Guest Editor for multiple journals including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. His research interests include smart sensing, monitoring, and optimization with applications in machine condition monitoring, advanced manufacturing processes, renewable energy production, and healthcare.
