Nan Li is currently an Elite Professor (Huashan Scholar) at the State Key Laboratory
of Electromechanical Integrated Manufacturing of High-Performance Electronic
Equipment, Xidian University, China, where he also serves as the Director of the
Research Center for Conformal Sensing and Flexible Manufacturing. He received his
Master’s degree from the University of Manchester, UK, and conducted his research
visit at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
Dr. Li’s current research work is in the domain of instrumentation and measurement
with a special focus on developing liquid metal-based flexible conformal sensors,
liquid metal conformal antennas, industrial tomography, and multi-modal embodied
intelligent perception systems. He has successfully spearheaded four highly
competitive projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China
(NSFC) as the Principal Investigator. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers
in high-impact journals and holds more than 15 national invention patents with
significant industrial exploitation.
Dr. Li is an IEEE Senior Member and continuously serves as a Session Chair for the
IEEE IMS flagship conference (IEEE I2MTC). He is an AE of IEEE Transactions on
Instrumentation and Measurement and also serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE
Sensors Journal and Measurement. He received the IEEE ICICN Best Young Scientist
Award in 2023 and the Shaanxi Provincial Leading Talent for Youth Scientific and
Technological Innovation title in 2025. He was recognized as one of the Outstanding
Reviewers for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement since.
