Shisong Li Email Biography Dr. Shisong Li (SM’18) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2014. He has been actively involved in a worldwide research project, now known as the Kibble balance experiment, since 2008, when he was a researcher at the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), Beijing, China. He was also a guest researcher during 2013, 2015, and 2016 respectively at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, USA. Since Sep 2016, he has joined the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), Sèvres, France as a physicist in mass and electrical metrology. His main contribution is on designing, analyzing, and optimizing the Kibble balance magnets among the community of practitioners. The main accomplishments include theoretical and experimental investigations on the coil-current effect, development of a theory for evaluating nonlinear magnetic errors, efforts on an updated magnet system for the Kibble balance community, etc. Dr. Shisong Li co-authored over 30 JCR-indexed publications. He is a co-author of publications on precision determination of the Planck constant in the NIST-4 Kibble balance team and the NIM Joule balance team. Dr. Shisong Li recently received the 2018 Early Career Award from the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES) due to his contribution of nonlinear error analysis in the Kibble balance experiment.
