Wuliang Yin

Biography

Wuliang Yin received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electronic measurement and instrumentation from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1992 and 1995, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in automotive electronics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1999.

He was appointed as a Mettler Toledo (MT) Lecturer with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 2012, promoted to a Reader, in 2020. He has authored one book, more than 270 articles, and was granted more than ten patents in the area of electromagnetic sensing and imaging.

He is a recipient of 2014 and 2015 Williams Award from The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining; a recipient of 2016 Best Graduate Student Paper from the IEEE I2MTC conference, a recipient of 2018 IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Graduate Fellowship as supervisor, a recipient of Excellent Paper Award – Agilent Measurement Forum in 2000 and National Scientific and Technical Progress Award by the Chinese Government in 1999.

He is an IEEE Senior Member, an EPSRC college member, Fellow of IET and BINDT.
