Yuan Gao (M’19) received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China, in 2010, and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China, in 2013. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), Rolla, MO, USA, in 2019. From May 2018 to August 2018, he was an EMC Design Engineering Intern with Apple Inc., Cupertino, CA, USA. From 2019 to 2024, he was a Senior Electromagnetic Design Technologist with Apple Inc.
He is currently an Assistant Professor with Great Bay University, China. His research interests include microwave and millimeter-wave imaging, antenna design, electromagnetic compatibility, and material characterization.
Dr. Gao is a recipient of the 2016 IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Graduate Fellowship Award, the 2018 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Student Travel Grant Award, the Second Place Award in the 2019 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference Best Student Paper Competition, and the 2019 IEEE AP-S Student Paper Competition Honorable Mention. He has also received multiple Outstanding Reviewer Awards and Outstanding Associate Editor Awards from IEEE TIM.
