Yunjie Yang Email Biography Dr. Yunjie Yang is an Associate Professor at the University of Edinburgh and an Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) affiliate. He previously held prestigious fellowships as a Chancellor’s Fellow in Data-Driven Innovation (2018-2023) and Bayes Innovation Fellow (2023-2024). Dr. Yang earned his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, M.Sc. from Tsinghua University, and B.Eng. from Anhui University. Dr. Yang’s research centers on AI-driven sensing and imaging, digital twins, and flexible sensors for wearables and robotics. His work has led to over 130 publications in high-impact journals and international conference proceedings. His research has been licensed to international research institutes and industry partners and has attracted significant media attention, including features by BBC, EFE, USA Today, and STV. He is the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant awardee. Dr. Yang is the Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement and the Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports. He is also a Guest Editor for the IEEE Sensors Journal and regularly reviews for over 70 high-impact international journals. Dr. Yang has chaired sessions and tracks at various international conferences and was honored with the IEEE I&M Society Graduate Fellowship Award in 2015. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
