Biography

M. Shamim Hossain is currently a Professor with the Department of Software Engineering, College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa, ON, Canada in 2009. He is the chair of IEEE Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Health with IEEE ComSoc eHealth Technical Committee. He is on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Multimedia, IEEE Network, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Access, Journal of Network and Computer Applications (Elsevier), and Games for Health Journal. Previously, he served as a guest editor of more than 2 dozens of Sis including ACM Transactions on Internet Technology, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Network, IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine (currently JBHI), IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, International Journal of Multimedia Tools and Applications, Multimedia systems Journal, Cluster Computing, Future Generation Computer Systems, and ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications (TOMM). He is a senior member of both the IEEE, and ACM. He is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer (DL).
