Bardia Yousefi

Biography

Bardia Yousefi is an appointed faculty in the A. James Clark School of Engineering’s B.S. in Biocomputational Engineering program, at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). Before he joined UMD, he was with the University of Pennsylvania Perelman school of medicine for more than two years. He also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Laval University, Quebec City.

He received his second Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Computer Vision and System Laboratory (CVSL), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Laval University in 2018, and his first Ph.D. in Intelligence Systems from the Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University Malaya in 2016.

His research interests include data mining, and machine/deep learning in various applications i.e., measurements in precision medicine (AI in medicine), and non-invasive diagnostic systems.

He was a Vice President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-IEEE Young Professionals (YP) in Quebec Section Canada in 2017 and currently serves as an invited editor for Machine Learning issues in several journals such as IEEE TIM, Cancers, Sensors, Infrared Physics and Technology, and Remote Sensing. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in different scientific journals and proceeding conferences.
