Biography

Antonio Esposito was born in 1993 in Naples, Italy. He received his Master Degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II in 2017, with a thesis on measurement for superconducting cables carried out within the Technical Student program at CERN (Geneva). Then he received his PhD in Metrology at Politecnico di Torino in 2022 with a thesis on applied metrology for brain-computer interface.

His research is currently going on in collaboration with CNR-ISTC, Ulster University and INRIM. The main aspects regard the measurement of electroencephalographic signals, either characterizing consumer-grade acquisition hardware or processing them with machine learning.

He has been working with visually evoked potentials elicited through smart glasses and he participated to the development of a BCI prototype addressed to both industry and healthcare applications. Currently, he also conducts research and development on extended reality as a neurofeedback means for interfaces based on motor imagery, which is a spontaneous brain activity largely exploited in post-stroke and neuromotor rehabilitation.
