Marco Tarabini

Biography

Marco Tarabini was born in Lecco, Italy, on June 2, 1978. He obtained a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. cum laude in Engineering of Mechanical Systems from Politecnico di Milano. Currently, he serves as an associate professor at Politecnico di Milano. Dr. Tarabini'ss research focuses on several areas, including the study of measurement uncertainty in industrial applications, human body response to vibration, and the design of measurement instruments for harsh environments. He has coordinated various research projects funded by the Lombardy region, the Italian Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INAIL), and the Italian Ministry for Economic Growth in these research domains.

Dr. Tarabini has authored two book chapters, over 70 scientific works published in peer-reviewed journals, and more than 100 papers published in conference proceedings. He is a co-inventor of 5 patents. Additionally, he serves as the vice-coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering course of study and scientific coordinator of two Joint Research Centers at Politecnico di Milano (MATT and Vibram). Dr. Tarabini convenes the ISO/TC108/SC4 WG13 - "Evaluation of Human Response to Whole-Body Vibration"; and is a member of the editorial board of two scientific journals. He also directs the PoliLINK@Lecco service and coordinates three laboratories (VB Lab, Human Vibration Laboratory and Human Performance Laboratory). Throughout his career, he has supervised over 100 MSc theses and 8 Ph.D. theses.
