Biography

Matteo Pastorino received the "laurea" degree in electronic engineering from the university of Genoa, Italy, in 1987 and the Ph.D. degree in electronics and computer science in 1992. Since 2008, he has been a Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the University of Genoa, where he is currently the Director of the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering (2008-2011). Prof. Pastorino is also the responsible of the local unit of the Italian Electromagnetic Society (SIEM). He teaches the university courses of "Electromagnetic Fields" and "Remote Sensing and Electromagnetic Propagation." Moreover, Prof. Pastorino is a member of the Interuniversity Center for the Interactions between EM Fields and Biosystems (ICEmB). His main research interests are in the field of electromagnetic direct and inverse scattering, nondestructive testing and evaluation, antennas, biolectromagnetics, and analytical and numerical methods in electromagnetism. He is coauthor of over 350 papers in international journals and international congress proceedings. Prof. Pastorino is a Fellow of the IEEE, an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Instrumentation and Measurement (microwave and millimeter wave measurement and imaging). He is also a member of the editorial boards and technical program committees of several other international journals and conferences in the field of microwaves and antennas.
