Biography

David Ayllon received his M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Boras, Sweden, in 2009, and M.S and Ph.D. degrees (with honors) in Information and Communications Technologies from the University of Alcala, Spain, in 2009 and 2013. He was a visiting scholar at The Laboratory for Engineering Man/Machine Systems (LEMS), Brown University, US, in 2010; a visiting scholar at the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Boras, Sweden, in 2011; and a visiting scholar at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, North Carolina State University, US, in 2012. After conducting his post-doctoral research at the University of Alcala, Dr. Ayllon joined Fonetic, a company based on speech technologies, where he led the artificial intelligence research group during two years. He is currently a research scientist with the speech research group at ObEN, US.

His research interests include automatic speech recognition and speech synthesis, speech emotion detection, signal detection and classification over wireless sensor networks, sensor and source localization, biomedical signal processing over body area networks, natural language processing and human-computer interaction. Dr. Ayllon has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in renowned journals and international conferences and participated in 14 public funded research projects.
