Paolo Castello

Biography

Paolo Castello received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cagliari, Italy. In April 2014, he obtained his Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the same university, with a dissertation on "Algorithms for Synchrophasor Measurement in Steady-State and Dynamic Conditions." In 2012, he was a visiting research scholar at the E.ON Energy Research Center, RWTH Technical University in Aachen, Germany, within the Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems. Since 2017, he has been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Cagliari, Italy.

His research interests include synchrophasor estimation and wide-area measurement systems based on PMU, signal-processing algorithms for power quality applications, and distributed and synchronized measurement systems using real-time hardware.
