Jorge F. Daher

Biography

Jorge Fernandez Daher received the degree in Electronic Engineer from the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay in 1987. He currently owns an engineering company providing test and measurement services in medium and high voltage networks. In the past he has worked in the national electrical utility laboratory where he developed a number of testing technicques. He has served in a number of positions in IEEE, both in his country and internationally. He has been Chair of the local IMS Chapter and Section Chair in Uruguay, Vice President Membership and President of the Instrumentation and Measurement Society. He is also a Distinguished Lecturer in the Power and Energy Society. He has been involved in standards development for over 20 years. He holds a patent for partial discharge measurements. His technical interests are in the areas of testing, diagnostic and measurements in medium and high voltage equipment.

Biography

Ruqiang Yan received the M.S. degree in precision instrument and machinery from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst, MA, USA, in 2007.

He was a Guest Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 2006-2008 and a Professor with the School of Instrument Science and Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China from 2019 to 2018. He joined the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, in 2018. His research interests include energy-efficient sensing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence for the condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and prognosis of large-scale, complex, dynamical systems.

Dr. Yan is a Fellow of IEEE (2022) and ASME (2019). His honors and awards include the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Distinguished Service Award in 2022, and Technical Award in 2019, and multiple best paper awards. Dr. Yan is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, and Editorial Board Member of several other journals.

Biography

Dario Petri received the M.Sc. degree (summa cum laude) and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 1986 and 1990, respectively. From 1990 to 1992 he was an assistant professor at the Department of “Electronics and Information Engineering” of the same University. In 1992 he joined the University of Perugia, Italy, as an associate professor. He was elevated to full professorship of Measurement and Electronic Instrumentationin 1999. In 2002 he joined the Department of “Information Engineering and Computer Science” at the University of Trento, Italy, where he was the chair of the International Ph.D. School in “Information and Communication Technology” from 2004 to 2007 and the chair of Information Engineering study programs from 2007 to 2010. He has been the head of Department in Industrial Engineering of the same University from 2015 to 2021.

He has chaired the Italy Chapter of the IEEE I&M Society from 2006 to 2010. Currently he is the Vice Chair of the IEEE Italy Section. Also, he has been a Co-founder and General Chair of the Ph.D Schol “International Measurement University” (IMU) of the IEEE I&M Society from 2008.

Dr. Petri is an author of over three hundred papers published in international journals or in proceedings of peer reviewed international conferences.

Dario Petri is a Fellow member of the IEEE.
